Rebecca “Becky” Jones Moore, age 70, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away at home with her family by her side on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Becky was born on November 18, 1953, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Robert Edward Jones and Mellie Shelton Jones. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1971. She attended Nave Paramedical School and earned her associate’s degree. She met the love of her life, Randall “Randy” Moore, in 1975, and they were married on December 31, 1976. Becky started her career at Bristol Memorial Hospital as an X-ray technician before relocating to Johnson City Memorial. She became a CT Scan Technician in 1981 before she became a Chargemaster Facilitator in 2002 for Ballad Health. She retired after 44 years of faithful service.
Becky and Randy were longtime members of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was very active in the United Methodist Women and helped prepare meals in the kitchen.
Becky served on the board of directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for several years. From 2000 until 2019, she and Randy brought the JDRF Walk to the Tri-Cities to raise money and awareness. The Moore Award was created in their honor and awarded to the individual who raised the most money annually. This was a cause that she was most passionate about, and she also served as a family outreach counselor.
Becky’s granddaughters were the love of her life; she enjoyed spending time with them. Every year she went to the beach, this was her favorite trip. She was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Tennessee football. Becky was such a beautiful person, in and out. She loved her friends and family, and she will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Randy; son, Brian (Brittany) Moore; grandchildren, Brinley, Blakely, Baelyn, and Brady Moore; brother, Dan (Pat) Jones; nieces, Andrea (Mike) Martinez and Rachel (Nick) Pincumbe; and nephew, Stephen (Jessica Bond) Jones.
