Renee Williams Hyder, age 41, of Johnson City, passed away, Friday, March 16, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Renee was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of Dewey M. Williams and Marie Clark Williams. Her grandparents, Earl and Maude Clark and Elmer and Nellie Williams, preceded her in death. Renee was a graduate of Science Hill High School. She graduated from ETSU in 1994 with a BS in English. She then obtained her RN, BSN from ETSU in 2004. She was a teacher at Providence Academy for four years, where she loved all her students and seeing them excel. She then proudly worked her way through nursing to become the Director of Nursing at Hermitage Health Center in Elizabethton. In March 2011 she received the National Director of Nursing of the year award for Grace Healthcare. She also worked at Erwin Healthcare Center, Life Care Center of Elizabethton and Caris Healthcare. Renee was a member of Southside Baptist Church and attended Marvins Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include: her husband of seventeen years Joe Hyder of the home; one daughter, Hannah Hyder; two sons, Elijah Hyder and Ethan Hyder; a special cousin, Melvin Williams and his wife Tammy; two uncles, Bud Bowman and Bobby Bowman; five aunts, Betty Brown, Linda Sweney and her husband Bob, JoAnn Williams, Geneva Williams and Loretta Williams; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Mitzi Hyder; two sisters-in-laws, Felisa Townsend and husband Jeff, and Kim Williams; one niece Kari Masters and husband Andrew; two nephews, Brandon Townsend and Jared Williams; great-nephew Colton Masters; many cousins and special friends. The funeral service for Renee Williams Hyder will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Rick Clowers will officiate. Dorothy Clark and Betty Bradshaw will provide music also a solo will be provided by Amy Millsaps. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday in the Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Williams, Clinton Williams, Peyton Williams, Melvin Williams, Eddie Millsaps and Steve Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers will be all her nurses, staff, friends and coworkers. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
