Rex L. Carden, 83, of 306 Carter Sells Road, Johnson City died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Carden was a native of Hampton, TN and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was a son of the late William David and Lucy McIntosh Carden. Mr. Carden was self-employed. Mr. Carden is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Buena Hendrix Carden. Survivors include: two daughters, Louise Osborne and Margaret Ann Robar, both of Johnson City; two sons, David A. Carden and Ray Carden, both of Johnson City. Five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Rex L. Carden will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, March 22, 2005 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Lenny Smith and Rev. Rusty Wishon will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 PM Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
