Richard "Rick" Butler

Richard "Rick" Butler, age 63 of Jonesborough, Tennessee went to be with his Lord on December 8, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on January 10, 1961 to the late William and Blonda Butler. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Miller.

Rick loved his family and friends. His message to those left behind can be found in John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8 & 9, and Romans 8:38 & 39. He was a faithful member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Angela Hawkins Butler, daughter, Chelsea (Mikie) Alexander, son, Nicholas (Sydney) Butler; grandchildren, Bella Faith, Michael Miller, Maddox Alan, Asher Benjamin, and Lucy Annalee Alexander; brothers, Larry (Carol) Butler and Keith (Cathy) Butler, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to friends of SoFHA, State of Franklin Healthcare Associates, and the IT Department from which he retired. Also, friends of East Tennessee Brain & Spine. The support and love shown to him kept hope alive.

Contributions in Rick's memory may be made to the Tohono O'odham Nation, where The Ford family takes the Gospel to remote communities on the reservation spreading God's Word to all people. The family will receive friends from 4:30pm until 6:30pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, 104 Cherry Grove Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659. A celebration of Rick's life will immediately follow beginning at 6:30pm with Pastors, Tommy Clark and Craig Needham officiating, and Mr. John Verble will be giving a final prayer.
