Richard Louis Kneaskern, 80, of Johnson City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, March 1, 2024.

In 1943, Richard was born to Howard E. Kneaskern and Sarah Prentice Kneaskern in Auburn, New York, where he was raised.

Richard would meet and marry the love of his life, Grace Daland Kneaskern.

He graduated from Piedmont Bible College with a theological degree and served honorably in the United States Navy in the submarine service for 20 years. He pastored several churches in Virginia, North Carolina, and New York. He had a passion for studying and teaching the Bible.

Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by: his loving wife of 56 years, Grace Kneaskern; his brothers, Robert and William Kneaskern; and a grandson, Tyler Kneaskern.

Those remaining to cherish his memory include: their three children, Daniel Kneaskern, Sandra Kneaskern, and Gloria Wells; along with five grandchildren, Brittany, Zephaniah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Grace Marie.

A visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2024 in the Oak Hall at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 pm immediately following the visitation. Dan Kneaskern will officiate the service.

A committal service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the V.A. Mountain Home National Cemetery. The service will be held in the historical section. Those wishing to attend are asked to be there no later than 12:50 pm.
