Mr. Richard L. Moore, age 84, of Johnson City, entered into rest on, October 22, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Moore was a native of Roanoke, Virginia who had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late Alfred Moore and Elizabeth Williams Moore. In addition to his parents his first wife Laura Rosella; several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death. Mr. Moore worked for OG Kelley as a Lead Burner. Survivors include his loving wife of twenty eight years, Lauretta 'Jean'? Moore of the home; one daughter Faye Holden and her husband Bobby Jack of Jonesborough; two sons, Mike Moore and his wife Melba of Gray and David Moore and his wife Betsy of Kingston, Tennessee; one brother, Ernest G. Moore and his wife Bonnie of Virginia; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, Matt Johnston, Becky Butcher, Sam Johnston and Adam Johnston; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; three step- great great grandchildren The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the caregivers from the Helping Hand and Caris Hospice. The funeral service for Mr. Richard L. Moore will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday October 25, 2012, in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Curtis Booher will officiate. The entombment service will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Thursday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tn. 38105.
