Richard Wayne Williams, 56, of 802 Wilson Avenue, Johnson City, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Richard Winston Williams and Ruby Haws Baker . Wayne worked in maintenance for many years. He loved to play and sing music, working with his hands and helping others by working on their cars. Wayne was a member of the Tacoma Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Burnie Williams. Survivors include: his wife, Eva Williams of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and David Wright of Asheville, North Carolina; a son, Dustin Williams of Johnson City; three grandsons, Colby, Kaleb and Josh Wright; a sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Eddie Mullins of Unicoi; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Brenda Williams of Johnson City; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Hendrix and her husband, Jeff of South Carolina and Patricia Davis and her husband, Ron of North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Charles Call of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at the Tacoma Church of God, under the direction of Rev. Don Kelly. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at four.
