Ricky L. Foster, 62, of Piney Flats, died Friday, May 1, 2020 at his home following a long illness.
He was an Erwin native who had lived all of his life in the Tri-Cities area. He was a son of the late Edmond and Joann Smith Foster.
Ricky was a born entrepreneur and workaholic. Early in his career, he owned the Holiday Market and State Line Market in Elizabethton. He also owned Foster Properties which developed apartments and condominiums including the Lilley Landing condominiums, Presswood Court apartments, and Gabriel’s Crossing condominiums.
When he was not working, he loved to spend time at his cherished home on Boone Lake fishing and watching Nascar-his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He also liked taking weekend back-road drives to places like Gatlinburg and visiting his granddaughter in Texas.
In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by one brother, Edmond Foster, Jr.
Survivors include: his wife, Donna Kay Foster; sister, Donna Coffie, and her husband Junior; two sons, Robert Keith Lilley, and his wife Jessica, and Jason Thomas Lilley; one granddaughter, Sydnee Gabriella Lilley; one Nephew, Seth Coffie, and his wife, Amanda; and one niece, Shanna Leach, and her husband Todd.
Due to the pandemic, the Foster family will plan a memorial celebration at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
