Robert William “Bob” Bogart, 74, passed away peacefully at home in Limestone, Tennessee on Monday, March 11, 2024 following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving and devoted wife Taunja of 37 years, and his family whom loved him dearly.
Bob was born on July 3, 1949, in Johnson City, Tennessee. He attended the University of Chicago and East Tennessee State University where he received his graduate degree. Upon graduation, he began his career as a professor at MIT and East Tennessee State University. Bob loved teaching, but it was more
than that. Bob was a very knowledgeable man. He had a love of learning, a love for his students to learn, and a love of bringing these two loves together. He inspired students to be the best versions of themselves.
After years of teaching, Bob went on to become an entrepreneur starting his own business in 1993, Life Foundations, Inc., located in Kingsport, Tennessee. Bob found it an honor to be surrounded and work with the highest level of professionals providing services to the community.
Bob had a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. His generosity, compassion, integrity, and humanity for others was one of Bob's greatest and most admirable qualities.
He was a devoted and caring husband to Taunja. He loved life and lived it to the fullest, Bob had a love for animals, especially his fur babies. He loved them all and valued them as members of his family. But then came a mini Australian Shepherd named Mac. Mac was special, he was most loved and adored by Bob as his “Heart Dog”; they had an instant connection and Mac will miss Bob deeply.
Bob is survived by: his wife, Taunja McFeature Bogart; sister, Nancy Hale (Larry), beloved dog, Mac; many nieces and nephews; and many other family members, associates, and caring friends.
Bob is preceded in death by: parents, Ray and Gertie Bogart; brothers, Junior Bogart (Juanita), Ed Bogart (Shirley); and sister, Louise Willis (Ed).
We would like to extend many special thanks with our deepest gratitude to the Amedysis Care Team and to Linda McFeature Feuchtenberger for the special care given to Bob.
