Mr. Robert Brown 'RB'? Treadway, 88, of Johnson City, passed away on September 17, 2014, in the Continuum Courtyards, Johnson City. He was born in Carter County but had lived most of his life in Washington County. He was the son of the late George H. and Nola Hammitt Treadway. He retired in 1980 as chief of the Veterans Canteen Service, Mountain Home, TN., after 33 years of service, having won nine outstanding performance awards. He also served as Chief Canteen Service in Thomasville, Georgia during his VA career. Mr. Treadway was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He served with the 63rd Infantry Division, in Europe. He received two Battle Stars, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He was a member of First Christian Church, having served many years on the Board of Deacons and Elders. He was a charter member of the Win-A-Kuple Sunday School Class. Mr. Treadway was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Kincheloe Treadway in 2000, after 53 years of marriage, three brothers and one son, Gregory A. Treadway, in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Lois Fay Hopson Treadway, one brother Earl Treadway, Jonesborough, one sister Gladys Tucker, Spouts Springs, Virginia, two sons Robert 'Bob'? Treadway and his wife Sandra, Piney Flats, Mark Treadway and wife Pamela, Jonesborough, one stepson, Dr. David Keith Hopson and wife Connie Jo, Oklahoma City, and stepdaughters, Judy Marie Hopson Haws and husband Lawrence Haws, Elizabethton, TN. and Karen Bowers and her husband Lynn; several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. The family of Mr. Robert Brown 'RB'? Treadway will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, September 18, 2014, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The funeral service will follow in the South Chapel. Dr. Tim Wallingford will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday, in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 10:30 AM Friday, to go in procession to the cemetery.
