Robert F. Johnson, 70, of 3024 Mayfield Drive, Johnson City, died Thursday, July 12, 2006 at the Lakebridge Healthcare Center. Robert was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, son of the late Frank William and Lydia Mae Cole Johnson. He was a retired gardener at the Veteran?s Affairs Medical Center and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Cherokee Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Sneed Johnson; three sons, Jeff Johnson, Mike and his wife Kim Johnson all of Johnson City and Mark Johnson of San Diego, CA; a daughter and son - in - law, Kim and Jon Mills of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Romulus Johnson of Limestone; a sister, Mary Nan Craig of Memphis; three grandchildren, Robby and Rachel Johnson and Sarah Mills; several nieces, nephews and an aunt and uncle. Special thanks to the Johnson City Medical Center ICU and 4200 wing of the 4th floor and the Lakebridge Healthcare Center. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, July 14, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Lynn Hartsell. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Cherokee Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Memorials may be made in the form of donations to the Cherokee Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o the Cherokee Baptist Church, 143 Mayberry Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659.
