Robert Lee Strong

Robert Lee Strong, 93, of Elizabethton, formerly of California, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Robert was a native of Henderson, Kentucky. He was a son of the late James and Dasilee Mullnix Strong. Robert proudly served in the US Marine Corps during WWII, and also in the Air Force in the ?50s and ?60s. He worked as a Test Flight Mechanic in the military, and later at Lockheed in California. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Strong; daughter, Jeanne Young-Masters; and four brothers, John, James, Landon, and Carl Strong. He is survived by his grandson, Patrick Yelton and his wife Sheila, of Elizabethton, and niece, Gail Fambrough, of Henderson, KY. Inurnment will be at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded.
