Robert M. Bobby Shipley

Robert M. ?Bobby' Shipley, 65, of Johnson City, died Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Jack Richard and Ruby Juanita Gray Shipley. Bobby was a retired truck driver for the Snyder Paper Company, also worked for the Howren Oil Company and the Super Oil Company. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Bobby loved hunting, fishing, gardening, NASCAR (Tony Stewart fan) and was a jokester who always made others laugh. He will be deeply missed by family and friends and will live in their hearts forever. Survivors include: his wife, Sharon White Shipley (who lost her loving husband of 45 years and she will love him forever and always until they meet again) of the home; his daughter, Samantha Shipley of Johnson City; his special grandson, Isaiah Taylor of Johnson City; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jack Richard Shipley, Jr. of Johnson City, Don and Michelle Shipley of Jonesborough; two sisters, Tommie Holden and Larry Campbell of Johnson City, Margaret ?Rooney' Hayes of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; his two fur babies, Casper and Daisy. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00pm in the Dogwood Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Jack Maupin. A committal service will be held at Washington County Memory Gardens on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10:00am. Active pallbearers will be: Nick Avery, Isaiah Taylor, Neon Charlie, Chris Hammett, Joe Hammett and Denny Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be: Josh McSwain, Warren Cunningham and Bryan Allen. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to leave in procession by 9:30am.
