Robert S. Dr. Moulton

Dr. Robert S. Moulton, 89, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital in Johnson City. Robert was born in Fall Branch, Tennessee. He was a son of the late Berl Moulton and Maxine Sampson Moulton. He graduated from Fall Branch High School and graduated, with honors, from East Tennessee State University. Robert completed his DDS at the University of Tennessee at Memphis School of Dentistry. He also went on to complete a specialization in prosthetics at UT Memphis. Robert proudly served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Tokyo, Japan. Roberts career in dentistry was with the Veterans Administration, first in Memphis, and then in Georgia and North Carolina, before returning home to Mountain Home, Tennessee. Robert retired from the VA Mountain Home on February 25, 1985, after 30 years of service. After retirement, he and Betty owned Blue Ridge Better Homes and Gardens for 15 years, enjoying residential sales and construction. He built one of the first senior condo developments in North Johnson City '? Sunridge North. Robert also enjoyed golf, cooking, reading, gardening, and music. His most recent renovation project was his patio home at Villas at Browns Mill, which he completed this past December. He was an avid supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and St. Jude. In past years he was active in Kiwanis and Exchange Club. Robert was a member of First Christian Church for over 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Betty Ruth Moulton; sister, Helen Boyer; and brothers, Howard and Kenneth Moulton. He is survived by: two daughters, Gail Reyes and Jan McNeese and her husband Jim; grandson, Galen Reyes; niece, Sandra Satterfield; nephew, Lake K. Boyer II and his wife Connie; great nephew, Mark Satterfield and his wife Julie. The family of Dr. Robert S. Moulton will receive friends from 5 to 6 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2015, in Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Dr. Tim Wallingford officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Wednesday, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Dr. Gene Wigginton will officiate. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:45 PM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
