Mrs. Roberta C. Lowe, age 79, Johnson City, passed away, Thursday, December 22, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Lowe was a native of Carter County who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Ed Crowe and Myrtle Robison Crowe. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Delmer W. Lowe; two sisters, JoAnn Crowe and Louise Hamby; one brother, Edward J. Crowe; one great grandson, Luke Smalling. Mrs. Lowe was a homemaker and lifelong Christian. She was married to the love of her life for sixty-one years and was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family will always remember her for her kind and gentle spirit. Survivors include: one son, George Lowe of Johnson City; two daughters, Teresa Lowe Smalling and her husband Thomas of Johnson City and Barbara Lowe Tucker and her husband Jerry of Gray; two sisters, Nannie Burton of Johnson City and Peggy McLemore and her husband Terry of Florida; five grandchildren, Duane Smalling, Scott Smalling and his wife Carmen, Chasity Ferrando and her husband Dennis, Wes Tucker and his wife Jennifer and Lindsey Jessen and her husband Michael; eleven great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Roberta C. Lowe will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, December 26, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Brother Roy Tucker and Chaplain Victor Tucker will officiate. Organist Lynda Tucker and soloists Jennifer Tucker, Benny Lowe and Laura will provide music. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Duane Smalling, Scott Smalling, Zach Smalling, Wes Tucker, Dennis Ferrando and Michael Jessen. Honorary pallbearers will be the great grandchildren, Jake, Maddox, Cameron, Abby, Becca, Grayson, Hayden, Austin, Blake and Christain. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service.
