Roger Dale Horton

Mr. Roger Dale Horton, 57, of Johnson City, TN passed away Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City and had lived here most of his life. He was a son of Dorothy Helen Price Horton of Johnson City and the late Samuel William Horton. He was also preceded in death by one grandson. Mr. Horton was a member of the Unicoi United Methodist Church. Survivors in addition to his mother, include; his wife, Mrs. Penny Horton; four sons, Kenneth Horton, Thomas Horton and Milton Gregory Horton all of NC, and Kyle Gregory Horton of Johnson City; two stepsons, Jimmy Eugene Stanton and Larry Austin Stanton both of Johnson City; four grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel William Horton, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC and David Allen Horton Head of West Jordan, Utah; six sisters, Judy Murmon and Becky Lester both of Johnson City, Evelyn Ford and Connie McKinney and Lisa Grindstaff all of Gray and Rita Martin of Martinsville, VA; a special aunt, Betty Head of Unicoi and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Tuesday from the Morris Baker North Chapel. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 2:30 on Tuesday.
