Roger Dean Shipley

Mr. Roger Dean Shipley, 59 of Johnson City, TN passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, at his residence. He was a graduate of Happy Valley High School where he was an outstanding football player. He worked for Rainbow Bakery in Johnson City until he transferred to Charlotte, NC where he worked for many years as an Assistant Superintendant of Manufacturing. His father John Henry Shipley, his brother Jack Shipley, a sister Pamela Shipley, his daughter Stephanie Shipley and his niece Shanda Shipley preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Cheri Shipley of Mt. Holly NC. a son Vann Shipley; step daughter Jessica Chasteen; and seven grandchildren, Hunter, Dakota, Skylar, and Ella Shipley, Michael, Brayden and Jase Thomassin, and mother Peggy Shipley of Watauga. He is also survived by three brothers, Rick Shipley and wife Kathy, Ken Shipley and wife Sherry and Tony Shipley and wife Lisa; two sisters, Donna Treadway and husband Larry, Renee Campbell and husband Bill; many nieces and nephews and four special ?little buddies' Gage, Cayden and Mason Treadway and Jerome Riley. Friends and family are welcome to visit the home of Larry and Donna Treadway of Watauga. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Shriners Children Hospital. The family of Mr. Roger Dean Shipley will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, January 18, 2016, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 8 PM with Pastor Mike Anglin officiating.
