Roger Gene Bennett, 47, of 2426 Elizabethton Highway, Johnson City, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Washington County, son of the late Ryuko Taga Bennett and Bobby Gene Bennett. Roger was a purchasing agent for the Resp-I-Care Home Medical Services. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Roger loved life, family, friends, work and fishing. Survivors include: Donda Collins of the home; two daughters, Cara Nicole Bennett of Gray and Linda Spires of Johnson City; two sons, PFC Christopher Bennett (U. S. Army) of Johnson City and DCFR Dustin Collins (U. S. Navy) of Norfolk, Virginia; his father and step-mother, Bobby G. and Carolyn 'Sue'? Bennett of Johnson City; two aunts, Patricia Hoogkamp and her husband, Wesley and Joyce Hall all of Gray; special friends, Rick Combs, Wayne Lamplugh, Rusty Hartsock, Darlene Tipton , Steve and Patti Townsend. The family would like to give special thanks to: the staff of the Johnson City Medical Center, 5400 and 5500 wings and the ICU. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 120 E. Chilhowie Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601.
