Ronnie Eugene Minga, 60, Johnson City died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Minga was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a son of the late Andrew Howard and Axie Lee McInturff Minga and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Howard Torbett. Mr. Minga was retired from Tennessee Eastman Company after 38 years of service. He was a US Marine veteran. Survivors include one son, Johnathan Andrew Minga and his wife Christina, Johnson City; one stepson, Jason Alan Hudson, and his wife Beth, NY; three grandchildren, Tori, Kelton and Ashlyn Hudson; two sisters, Carolyn Torbett, Johnson City and Catheryn Bacon and her husband, Gordon, Johnson City, his girl friend, Joy Foster, Blountville, TN; two nieces, Tammy Torbett Campbell and Karen Bacon Barnette and many special friends. A funeral service for Mr. Minga will be conducted at 3 pm Saturday, July 11, 2009 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Oscar McAmis will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Wilson, Richard Nave, Jim Hale, Tom Patterson, Dallas Shoun, Jim Bowman, Bill Garland and Raymond Perkinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Bacon, Jason Coleman and Charlie Campbell. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 3 pm Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Boys Club of Johnson City, 2210 W. Market Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.
