Ross L. Good, 84, of 315 Delmer Salts Road, Gray, TN died Saturday, March 1, 2008 in the James H. Quillen, VAMC at Mountain Home. Mr. Good was a native of Emerson, Iowa but had lived most of his life in East Tennessee. He was a son of the late Isaac T and Mary McClain Good. Mr. Good was a Army veteran of WWII and Korea. He was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired plumber at ETSU. Mr. Good is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Laura Tester Good in 1998; his step-mother, Maude Good Keys; five brothers, Orville Good, Glen Good, Rolle Good, Paul Good, and Roy Good; two sisters, Minnie Elkins and Alma Nelson. Survivors include: one son, Adam R. Good of the home; one sister, Eleanor Bacon of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Ross L. Good will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel . Pastor Richie Honeycutt will officiate. Music will be by Kay Cross, pianist. The committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in the Duncan-Melvin/Tester-Carathers Cemetery in Johnson City. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 10:30 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Bowman, Charles Cox, Jeff Wilson, Ivan Cross, Terry Nunley, and Jimmy Good. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Good and Dr. Michael Ponder. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
