Roy C. Emert

March 12, 1946 — October 4, 2008

Roy C. Emert, 62, 503 David Circle, Johnson City, untimely died on Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Pine Bottom, Butler TN. Mr. Emert was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a son of the late Jack Emert and Ethel Crawford Emert of Johnson City. He was a pipe fitter in construction and was of the Baptist faith. Roy C. Emert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and a very special grandpa and a wonderful friend. The things in life that he really enjoyed was hunting deer, turkey, fishing in tournaments, raising a garden, and cooking. He enjoyed Motorcross Racing with his grandson who was a rider, and attended many ballgames and other sports with all his grandchildren. When his daughter was growing up and playing softball, Roy was known as 'Daddy'? by her whole team who loved him and wanted him at their games.To his son he was a great inspiration and friend. Roy was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed. Survivors other the his mother include: his wife, Elvia Holder Emert of the home; one son, Roy C. Emert, II and wife Angela of Johnson City; one daughter, Andi Russell and her fiancée ,Mike McKinney of Fall Branch; two brothers, Wayne Emert of Blountville and Eddie and wife Sylvia Emert of Johnson City; other sisters-in-law , Carolyn Caudell and husband Leon of Johnson City, Marilyn Barnett and husband Bill of Chuckey, and Georgia Page and her fiancée Bill Hodge of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Trey Emert, Tyler Emert, Kelsey Gentry, Dakoda Marich, Sumer Marich, Hunter Marich and Gavin Russell; a special friend, Gerald Nordeen of Unicoi; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Roy C. Emert will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, October 8,2008 in the South Chapel of Morris-Baker. Rev. Joey Murdock will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Emert, II, Gerald Noreen Roys lifelong friend, Jeremy Baker, Co-Workers at Cox Mechanical, Leon Caudell, Bill Hodge, Bill Barnett, David Russell and his nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be sent to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
