Roy C. 'Bill'? Couch, 81, of Johnson City died Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Pine Ridge Care Center in Elizabethton. He was a native of Washington County, son of the late J. C. Couch and Gladys Ingle Couch Duncan. Bill was a retired truck driver for the B and B Produce Company. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U. S. Air Force in Europe. In addition to his parents, six brothers and sisters, Jack, James and John Couch, Frank Duncan, Wanda Sparks and Maude Couch, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Violet Faye Barlow Couch of Johnson City; two sons, Tony Cox and his wife, C. J. of Johnson City, Gary Couch of Elizabethton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Chris Roberts of Jonesborough, Regina and Dwight Proffitt of Elizabethton, Elizabeth and LeRoy Miller of Oklahoma; five sisters, Elaine Jones, Joyce Ford, Mary Davis, June Maticic and Sara Hammell; nine grandchildren, Kelli Roberts, Denise Shuller, Shannon Muccio, Brandon Cox, Austin Cox, Christian Cox, Ethan Couch, J.R. Miller and David Proffitt and ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his dog Rocky. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Sulphur Springs Cemetery under the direction of the VFW Chaplain. The Boone Dam VFW and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be: Charlie Hartley, Roman Holtsclaw, Toby Crain, Brandon Cox, Austin Cox, Christian Cox and Ethan Couch. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mike Ferguson, Greg Barnes, Tim Barnes, Andrew Nelson, Carroll Pate, Ricky Pate and Wilburn Holly. The family would like to extend special thanks to: the Staff of the Pine Ridge Care Center 300 Hall and Dr. Vivian Clark.
