Mrs. Ruby E. Bishop, 78, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital. Mrs. Bishop was a native of Longwick, England. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Edith Burch Bunker. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker and a member of the Pinecrest Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Rose Horn. Ruby was a kind person who loved everyone. She loved singing in the choir at Pinecrest Baptist Church until her health prevented it. She was a special mother and grandmother, always having time to listen, no matter what was going on. She will be missed. Survivors include: her husband, Thomas Bishop; two sons, Steve Bishop and his wife Sharon and Daniel Bishop and Rhonda Bishop; one sister, Shirley Wing and her husband Ron; one brother, Bill Bunker and his wife Janet; one aunt, Olive Lawrence; four grandchildren, Dustin Bishop, Jeremy Bishop, Nathan Bishop and Whitney Blevins; two great grandchildren, Brycen Blevins and Jaiden Bishop; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Marilyn and Johnny Kerr. The family of Ruby E. Bishop will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, July 21, 2014, in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Mike Richards officiating. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday, in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 AM Tuesday.
