Ruby Fields Tabor

Ruby Fields Tabor, 78, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Ruby lived in Johnson City for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late George and Margaret Greer Fields. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, George Tabor, Sr. in 1989, five brothers, and six sisters. She was the last surviving of 12 children. Ruby graduated from Science Hill High School. She was an active member of Boones Creek Christian Church. Survivors include: two children, George Tabor, of Johnson City, and Lisa Van den Bosch and her husband, Paul, of Jackson, TN; two grandchildren, Lindsey Johnson and her fiancé, Tyler Carr, of Jackson, TN, and Blake Johnson and his wife, Meg, of Little Rock Air Force Base, AR. The family of Mrs. Ruby Fields Tabor will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 8 PM Tuesday in the North Chapel. Ministers David Clark and Dick Morris will officiate. A committal service is scheduled for 1:30 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Steve Love, Jeff Fields, Greg Fields, Blake Johnson, and Paul Van den Bosch. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 1:15 PM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery for those services.
