Ruby Lynn Hart

Ruby Webb Hart, 104, one of the areas oldest residents passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012 in Bristol, VA. She was born on her familys farm in the Poplar Ridge community near Piney Flats in Sullivan County, on January 10, 1908 to the late John David and Mattie Smith Webb. Ruby married the love of her life, Cecil Hart, in 1926, and they enjoyed a wonderful sixtieth wedding anniversary celebration in 1986. She and Cecil began their married life in Johnson City , lived a number of years in Louisville and shared a happy time of retirement in their home at Reddington Shores, FL. Ruby, having been predeceased by her husband, chose to spend her last years ' back home'? in the Bristol area near nieces and nephews. During that time she was able to enrich the lives of those who knew her by sharing stories of her adventures while growing up in the country as part of a large loving family. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Ruth Bullington, Gay Walker and Lydia Jones; three brothers: Raymond Webb, Bernie Webb and Roy Webb; one niece, Sandra Russ and one nephew, Scotty Webb.Survivors include several nieces and nephews: Duard Walker and his wife Carolyn, John Wallace Walker and his wife Sue, Richard Webb and his wife, Julia, Cathy Harsch, Vicki Hubbs and her husband Willis, Connie Jones and her husband David, Patty Greene and her husband Skip, David Webb, Jon Webb and Frances Butler. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 5, 2012 from the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Bob Edmonds will officiate. Burial services will follow in the Shell Cemetery in Piney Flats. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 pm on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Piney Flats United Methodist Church, 225 Methodist Church Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686. .
