Ruth A. Netherly

Ruth A. Netherly, 93, of 2037 King Springs Road, Johnson City, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the NHC Healthcare Center of Johnson City after a brief stay. She was a native of Carter County but had lived most of her life in Johnson City. Ruth was a daughter of the late John and Nora Presley Lewis. She was homemaker and member of the King Springs Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hie L. Netherly in 2000, also five brothers, Herbert, John Jr., Clarence, Earl and Bruce Lewis; two sisters, Edith Buck and Mildred Little. Survivors include: a brother, George W. Lewis of Johnson City; two sisters, Alma Brown of Chuckey and Virginia Booth of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, June 23, 2008 in the South Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Mr. Todd Wolfe. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at 8:00 p.m. Special music will be provided by: Susie Wolfe and Stephanie McKeehan. A committal service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Robert Buck, Gary Buck, Bruce Lewis, Jr., Danny Brown, Robert Brown, Tommy Little, Tom Turbyfield and Travis Maxwell. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to leave in procession at 10:30 a.m. The family would like to express their gratitude to the 6400 wing of the Johnson City Medical Center and the NHC staff for their compassionatea care.
