Mrs. Ruth Bailey Miller, 80, 430 Peachtree Street, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the Asbury Place Johnson City. Mrs. Miller was a lifelong resident of Washington County. She was the daughter of the late Frates and Alice Burnette Bailey. In addition to her parents one brother, Edward Bailey also preceded her in death. Mrs. Miller retired as a Legal Secretary for William F. Guinn Law Office. She was a member of the Oakland Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include: her loving husband of fifty-six years, Charles M. Miller of the home; one sister-in-law, Della Ruth of South Carolina; one nephew, Mark Bailey of Maryland; two nieces, Susan Bailey of Texas and Lynn Klett of Knoxville. The funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Miller will be conducted at 8 PM Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Roy Yelton will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 PM Sunday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 PM Saturday prior to the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, 2823 E. Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, Tn. 37601 or Cherokee Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, In care of: Geraldine Greenwell, 547 Meadowbrook Drive, Jonesborough, Tn. 37659.
