Ruth Crockett Haynes, age 89, of Johnson City, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Haynes was a Wytheville, VA native who had lived in Johnson City since 1966. She was a daughter of the late Joseph G. and Ruth Stephens Crockett. Along with her late husband, Herbert W. Haynes, she owned and operated the Charles Chips Distributorship in Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol. She was a member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: three sisters, Agnes Crockett, Julia Dunagan, and Frances S. Ellis, and one brother, Joe Crockett. Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Lynn Haynes, of Gray, TN, and Phil and Anne Haynes, of Bristol, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Wally Beagle, of Roanoke, VA; seven grandchildren, Chad Beagle, Mark Beagle, Beth Haynes, David Haynes, Andrea Boroughs, Meredith and Alison Haynes; nine great grandchildren, Blake Haynes, David Derrick, Zach Boroughs, Jasmine and Atlanta Haynes, Jackson and Jake Beagle, Madisyn, Kelsie and Ethan Boroughs; several nieces and nephews. The family of Ruth Crockett Haynes will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Wednesday at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Bishop Richard Looney and Rev. Michael Lester will officiate. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to Glennwood Cemetery, Bristol, TN for committal services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
