Ruth Underwood

Ruth Underwood, age 83, of 140 Brittney Drive, Gray, TN died Saturday, October 4, 2008 at her residence, Mrs. Underwood was a native of Brazil, Indiana and was a daughter of the late Harry and Frances Warken Kent. She was a retired legal secretary and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Johnson City. Survivors include: her husband, Eugene L. Underwood of the home; one son, Tim E. Underwood and wife Denise Matthews of Hampstead, NC; one daughter, Mary Alice and husband James Rock of Ypsilanti, Michigan; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family of Mrs. Underwood will receive friends at Morris-Baker on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM. A memorial service for Mrs. Underwood will be conducted at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 11 AM. Pastor Jim Nipper and Pastor Joseph Bolick will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to the Memorial Fund at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 212 Sunset Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604 Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Prime Timers.
