Ruth V. Brandenburg

Ruth Brandenburg, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday April 2, 2012, and is now in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Unicoi, TN, but resided in Johnson City most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Green B. and Isabella West Sparks. She was a member of North Johnson City Baptist Church, but for the last several years had attended Jonesborough Church of God with her daughter Diane and husband Glen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Brandenburg, Sr.; a son, Donald Lee Brandenburg, Jr.; brother, Harry Sparks of Pottstown, PA; five sisters, Frankie Hodge, Blanche Phillips, Jean Darr-Lowe, and Gladys Arnold, all of Johnson City and Grace Barnette of West Minister, SC. Survivors include her daughter Diane Saults and husband Glen who lived with her and faithfully took care of her through the years; grandson, Tony Lynn Zeolia and children, Whitney and Cheyenne; son, Timothy Ryan Zeolia, wife Chasty and son Caden. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Dear special friends, Jamie Puffenbarger, and Margie Crum. Special thanks to Blankenship Pharmacy, Dr. Christina Hutchins and nurse Debbie, Dr. Jeffrey Schoondyke, and nurse Mary. The family will receive friends, Thursday, 6-7pm with the services immediately following, at 7pm, at Morris Baker Funeral Home, South Chapel with the Revs. Michael Lusk and Rick Powell officiating. A graveside service will be held, 2pm, Friday, at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
