Samuel Gilbert Hawkins

Mr. Samuel Gilbert Hawkins, 91, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, at his home. A native of Johnson City, he was the son of the late Samuel Gilbert and Ella Pearl Cash Hawkins. Samuel served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of Boones Creek Christian Church. He retired from Eastman Kodak after 38 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Charles 'Lenny'? Hawkins and Roger Dale Hawkins; brother, John A. Hawkins; and sister Evelyn Hamilton. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Donnie Bell Farmer Hawkins; daughter Elizabeth 'Geri'? Hodges; brother Bob Hawkins and wife Kellena; sister Lucille Milhorn and husband Jim; six grandchildren, Kimberly Milhorn McEwen and husband Mike, Tracy Milhorn Burleson and husband Chance, Greg Hawkins and wife Cindy, Mark Hawkins, Benny Hawkins and wife Sheena, and Jada Hawkins Bowman and husband Andy; nine great grandchildren, Tyler McEwen and wife McKenzie, Cara McEwen, Carley McEwen, Walker Burleson, Kelsey Bowman, Kayla Bowman, Erica Hawkins, Megan Hawkins, Hayley Hawkins. Memorials may be made to Boones Creek Christian Church, Building Fund, 305 Christian Church Rd Gray, TN 37615-4504 The family will receive friends, Monday, from 4-6pm at Morris Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home. Services will be held at 6pm with The Revs. David Clark and Dick Morris officiating. JC Milhorn will be playing the piano. Burial will be held, Tuesday, 11am, at Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Rick Hawkins, Eric Hawkins, Ryan Hawkins, Darryle Milhorn, Mike Hamilton, and Argil Barker.
