Sandra Ann Sage Bowman

Our precious mother, Sandra Ann Sage Bowman, died at age 77 peacefully in her home in Johnson City, TN on October 17, 2015. She met her husband, ?Bob' Robert Wolfe Bowman, Jr., at the Dutch Maid Drive-In and they were married on the 4th July, 1957 in Johnson City, TN. They were married just short of 50 years before he passed on May 30, 2007. Mildred Honeycutt, her friend for over 70 years, was with her when she passed. Sandra was always smiling and never met a stranger. Her wonderful sense of humor made everyone laugh. She was one of the best storytellers you could listen too. She loved life and would give you the shirt off her back. After her children were nearly grown, she went back to school to get her nursing degree and worked in various nursing homes in the Tri-Cities area. Sandra and Bob enjoyed square dancing for many years. They loved boating and fishing. Although she was born in Johnson City on October 24, 1937, she celebrated her birthday on October 25th for 37 years until she found her birth certificate and realized she was in fact born on the same date as her son, Rob, October 24th. Those left to cherish her memory include: her children, Victoria Bowman Duever, ?Rob' Robert W. Bowman III, and Linda Bowman O?Dell; her granddaughter, Chloe Payton O?Dell; brothers, Larry Leo Sage and James Sage; sister-in law, Barbara Sage; and sons-in-law, Michael Duever and Shawn O?Dell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Sage and Hassie Moseley Sage, and mother-in-law, Janelle Bowman. The family would like to extend a special thank you to: Leo and Barbara Sage for caring for her; Deborah Cox, her home healthcare nurse who took great care of her and whom she loved; her friend, Grace, who always stopped by to check on her and humor her; and of course, her faithful dog ?Charlie' who watched over her every move. The family will greet friends to share memories on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 7-8 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be officiated by Pastor Dan Foster held at Morris-Baker Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 1:30 pm with a graveside service to follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Shawn O?Dell, Michael Duever, Larry England, and Jim Hughes. Honorary pallbearers are Curtis Rhea and Steve Scholten.
