February 14, 1949 — March 17, 2018

Sandra Kay Webb Cox (Sandy), age 69, of Gray, TN passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loved ones. A native of Johnson City, TN she was the daughter of the late Clyde Webb and Hattie Gardner Webb. Sandy graduated from Science Hill High School in 1967 and went on to earn a Master?s Degree from ETSU in Speech Pathology. She eventually became co-owner of Blue Ridge Fabricators in Elizabethton, TN (her career for over 36 years). She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. She was known by everyone for her love of life, sense of humor and quick wit. She lit up every room with her presence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Cox, brother, John Webb and nephew, Lee Hilton. Those left to cherish her memory include: a son, Thomas Wes Cox and daughter, K. Julie Cox of Johnson City, TN; sister, Phyllis (Annie) DeHart and husband Rev. Walt DeHart of Hot Springs, NC; grandsons Taylor Cox and Dylan Cox; brother in-law Joseph Cox and wife Bonnie; sister-in-law Sue McKinlay and husband John; nephew Jason Hilton and wife Michelle; numerous nieces and nephews along with friends she considered family. The family will host a Celebration of Life service in the upcoming months. Friends may contact Sandy?s daughter for more information regarding this event. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Washington County Animal Shelter 3411 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 or St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
