Sarah Elizabeth Gage

Sarah Elizabeth Barnes Gage, 88, of 3207 Bristol Highway, Johnson City and formerly of 948 Old Gray Station Road, Gray died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 in the NHC Healthcare Center in Johnson City. Mrs. Gage was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and a daughter of the late William Argil and Minnie Pearl Hale Barnes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gray United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gage is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Edward G. Gage in 2003; two sisters, Reba Barnes Wilee and Ruby Lee Barnes. Survivors include: one daughter, Dianna ' Dinah' Crussell of Johnson City; one brother, Lynn Barnes of Guntersville, Alabama; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Sarah Elizabeth Barnes Gage will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, January 12, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Ramon Torres will officiate. Music will be by Mrs. Judy Ellis, organist. The committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 10:30 AM Saturday to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be Ivan Barnes, Dwight Barnes, Don Gage, Cecil Tester, Monroe Ellis, and Roy Crussell. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Friday prior to the service. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at NHC Healthcare, especially the nurses, nursing assistants, and housekeepers on Station 2 and to the Caris Hospice and Chaplain Harold McNabb for all their loving care and concern for Mrs. Gage.
