Sarah Kathryn McCaa Bolton, Johnson City, died Thursday, October 5, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Bolton was born April 14, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Gladys Estelle McGill and Charles Gordon McCaa. She lived in Germantown, TN, attending school in Memphis and college at the University of Alabama, until marrying and moving to Johnson City in 1950. Mrs. Bolton was a member of St. John?s Episcopal Church, serving as a member of the Vestry, Altar Guild, and in other volunteer areas over the years. She had served on the board of Coalition for Kids and tutored in their after school program. Mrs. Bolton was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Lynn Bolton Sr., in 1986; as well as her brother, William Brooks McCaa; and sister, Gladys Joyce McCaa Shook. Survivors include: three sons, Alfred Lynn Bolton Jr., and his wife, Nora, of Greensboro, NC, Charles 'Gordon' Bolton, Johnson City, and Matthew Blaine Bolton Sr., of Johnson City; two daughters, Kathryn Bolton Wilkins, and her husband, Gibbs, of Edisto Island, SC, and Sarah 'Sally' Bolton Ramsey, of Brunswick, GA; fifteen grandchildren, Jennifer McCaa Bolton, Atlanta, GA, Rebecca Bolton Marple, Medina, OH, Charlotte Bolton Savage, Chester, VA, Jason Gibbs Wilkins, Round O, SC, Michael Gordon Bolton, Auburn, AL, Kathryn Wilkins Danos, Steamboat Springs, CO, James Robert Bolton, Sedalia, CO, Laura Patricia Bolton, Johnson City, Catherine Tucker Bolton, Johnson City, Alfred Lynn Bolton III, Greensboro, NC, David Logan Bolton, Johnson City, Matthew Blaine Bolton Jr., Johnson City, Nora Ashley Bolton, Greensboro, NC, Margaret Connerton Bolton, Johnson City, and Sarah Elizabeth Hamilton, Brunswick, GA; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Kendall Marple, Medina, OH. The family extends their sincere thanks to Mrs. Bolton?s caregivers and trusted friends, Kathy Williams, Donna Vance, Jennie Johnson and Tina Dykes. A service celebrating the life of Sarah Kathryn McCaa Bolton will be conducted 2:30 PM Saturday at St. John?s Episcopal Church. The Rt. Rev. William A. Jones Jr., and Rev. Margaret K. Zeller will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Bolton?s grandsons: Alfred Lynn Bolton III, Matthew Blaine Bolton Jr., Michael Gordon Bolton, James Robert Bolton, David Logan Bolton and Jason Gibbs Wilkins. Following the service, family and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for committal services. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
