Mrs. Sarah Napier Volkman, 38, 140 Hughes Lane, Johnson City died Tuesday March 17, 2009, at the home of her parents at 1500 Valley View Dr., Johnson City, Tn. 37601. Visitation anytime prior to Church services. Mrs. Volkman was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. She is the daughter of Harold Odell Napier, Jr. and Sandra Kay Kinnick Napier. Her paternal grandmother, Ileen Napier and her maternal grandparents, John and Cordie Kinnick, precede her in death. She was a cafeteria worker in the public school system. Mrs. Volkman was an active member of the Central Church of Christ were she worked with the children. She was a devoted wife, mother and a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Survivors include: her loving husband of ten years, Albert 'Eddie'? Volkman, Jr. of the home; one daughter, Alyson K. Volkman of the home; one son, Cory A. Volkman of the home; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert E. Volkman, Sr. and his wife Linda; her paternal grandfather, Harold Napier, Sr. and his wife Jean; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews and a host of friends. The funeral service for Sarah Napier Volkman will be conducted at 8 PM Friday March 20, 2009 in the Central Church of Christ, Oakland Avenue, Johnson City. Mr. Timothy D. Hall will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the Morris-Baker at 10:30 AM Saturday to go in procession. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Central Church of Christ Building Fund, 2722 East Oakland Avenue, Johnson City Tn. 37601
