Shalhla Maine, 62, Carter County, Tennessee went to be with the Lord peacefully at home on December 1, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Maine; daughter, Tekisha Maine; son, Timothy Jeremiah Daniel Maine; and grandparents, William and Beryl Taylor.
Left to cherish her memory are: her mother, Elizabeth Langeroudi; daughter, Crystal Smith (William “Jay”); grandchildren, Noah Feathers and Kaleigh Feathers; aunt, Cindi Taylor; and uncle, Charles Taylor (Teresa), as well as many cherished cousins and too many to name friends.
Shalhla’s big heart loved all people, especially her family and friends. She judged no one. As she once said, “Everyone deserves a chance”. She was always inviting people who had no place to go into her home, even on holidays. She loved greeting people with her “Sunshine” smile and always had time for anyone needing an ear to listen. She lit up when talking about her family. A rare woman like Shalhla is not someone you can forget easily. She has been a pillar of strength for so many people.
Music fed Shalhla’s soul. It lifted her higher in happy times and wrapped her in comfort when life was hard. Her dream job was the years she spent at Back Door Records where she made lifelong friends. She made many more working at the Cottage, the Elizabethton Elks Lodge, the Johnson City Elks Lodge, and the Erwin Elks Lodge. Shalhla’s happy place was at the beach with the people she loved, singing and dancing to great music. She had such a love for Jesus. She touched the lives of so many.
A special Thank You to “Shalhla’s Angels” for the love and care given!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to either the Elizabethton or Johnson City Elks Lodge.
