Sheila J. Miller Poole

Sheila J. Miller Poole, 73, went peacefully to meet her Heavenly Father February 25th, 2017, at The Waters of Johnson City. She previously resided at Brookdale Senior Living of Johnson City. She was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late John C. and Lena Mae Miller. She was a graduate of Boones Creek High School and a former member of East Pine Grove UMC. Her favorite hymns were ?Amazing Grace' and ?How Great Thou Art.' She was employed with State Farm Insurance for several years and Snap-On Tools in the insurance department for 17 years. She enjoyed traveling to Atlanta with Larry to visit her grandchildren and to Indiana to visit her nephews. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her family to England, Wales, and Ireland in 2009. She also loved decorating her home and shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Poole, in 2008; an infant brother; sister, Manola Loudy and husband Ralph; and sister-in-law, Sue Irvin Miller. She is survived by: siblings, Lekah Miller of Kingsport, Pat Rose of Gray, and Judy Miller Ledford (David) of Johnson City; niece, Renae Riddle of Bluff City; nephews, Nick Rose of Gray and Jonathan Loudy of Marion, Indiana; great nephews, Roger Riddle of Gray and Deven and Dillen Loudy of Marion, Indiana; great great nephew, Roger Gavin Riddle; and special friend, James Davidson of Bluff City. Also surviving are step daughter, Michelle Medearis; step son, Tony Poole (Susan); and grandchildren, Tate and Leighton Poole, all of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Mrs. Norman Walker of Gray; and step brother, Kenneth Walker (Delia) of Kingsport. Special caregivers are Pat and Judy. Many thanks to our special cousins for the many thoughts and prayers. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Brookdale, The Waters, 2nd floor staff at Franklin Woods Hospital, and Caris Hospice. The family of Sheila J. Miller Poole will receive friends and family from 12:30 to 1:30 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Morris Baker Funeral Home. An entombment service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pastor Lon Tobin and Rev. Edward Davis will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be: David Ledford, Ralph Miller, Roger Riddle, Junior and Rutledge Jones, Joey and Joe McQueen, and Terry Bowman.
