Sherman Franklin Leonard

Sherman Franklin Leonard, 91, 1405 Valley View Drive, Johnson City, TN went to be with His Lord, Monday, November 20, 2006, surrounded by his family at home. He was one of eleven children born to the late James Beverely Leonard and Florence Haney Leonard. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Ralph Norville Leonard, Paul Bolton Leonard, Edward Wilson Leonard, James Beverly Leonard, Jr, Robert Jackson Leonard and twin brother, Thurman Columbus Leonard; four sisters, Lucy Mae Slagle, Hazel Ann Taylor, Gladys Daisy Leonard and Dora Ruth Smith. He was a very active member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Mr. Leonard was, a big fan of Science Hill High School sports. In addition to his wife, Bulah Leonard, of sixty eight years, Mr. Leonard is survived by three children, Patricia Ann Hunter and husband, Worley, Glenda Kaye Harvey and husband, Roy Alton, Michael Keith 'Mickey' Leonard and wife, Kathy; seven grandchildren, Melea Kaye Hunter and special friend, Tam Treadway, Mark Eric Hunter and wife, Crystal, Kelly Michelle Greene, Chad Allen Harvey and wife, Michelle, Dawn Reshay Carcich and husband Jeremy, Michael Austin Leonard and Colton Keith Leonard; three great grandchildren, Sydney Danielle Hunter, Lindsey Erica Hunter and Gehrig Matthew Carcich; several nieces and nephews; two special caregiver nieces, Traci Leichliter and Priscilla Raver. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Johnson City Medical Center Hospice program for all their support and loving care. A funeral service for Mr. Leonard will be conducted at 8PM Tuesday from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Reverend Reece Harris will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2006.Pallbearers will be Mark Hunter, Chad Harvey,Morgan Littleford, Gene Caldwell, Steve Weaver, Jeremy Carcich, Steve Deihl and Ken Deihl. . The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
