Shirley Ann Adams

Shirley Adams, 56, 229 Harwood Drive, Gray, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Adams was a native of Scott County, Virginia who had lived most of her life in Gray. She was the daughter of the late James Douglas and Elrita Bradley Spears. In addition to her parents one brother, Gary Spears, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: her husband, Frank Adams of the home; one son, Eric Adams and his wife Shanan of Johnson City; one daughter, Pamala R. Manis and her husband Robert W. of Kingsport; one step brother, Don Stokes of Gate City, Virginia; one grandson, Landon Manis of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Shirley Adams will be conducted at 8 PM Saturday, October 4, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Richie Honeycutt, Allen Hensley and Ron Adams will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral chapel at 2:15 PM Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Saturday prior to the service.
