Shirley Jean Bogart

Shirley Jean Bogart, 83, of Johnson City died Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at her residence. She was a native of Lenoir, NC, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret McAllister Sluder. Shirley was homemaker, who loved to travel, square dance, she was an expert seamstress who also loved quilt making. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bryon Bogart and a brother prior to his birth. Survivors include her husband Charles Edward ?Ed' Bogart; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Kris Bogart a daughter-in-law, Cindy Bogart; five grandchildren, Trey and Cortney Bogart, Alli Bogart, Amber and Brad Bacon, Weston Bogart and Dr. Whitney Bogart; five great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Nancy and Larry Hale; a brother-in-law, Bob and Taunja Bogart; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service is scheduled for 8:00 pm in the Dogwood Chapel under the direction of Chaplain Steven Spell. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:00 am. Family and friends should assemble at the cemetery by 10:50 am. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to offer special thanks to the Amedisys Hospice and staff, Vanessa, Katie and caregiver Tonya.
