Shirley Jean Stewart

Shirley Jean Stewart, the best Mama and Mamaw ever, 71, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, a daughter of the late Frank McMackin and Carrie Dugger. Shirley was of the Pentecostal faith. She spent her time writing poetry, loved her animals, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, John Stewart; three sisters, Christina, Eliza, and Peggy; and one brother, Jimmy. Survivors include: her children, Melissa (Michael), Angie and Allen; brother, the one and only Bud Dugger; grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, Daphne, Jacob, Brett, Jonas, Jeremiah, Tessa, Jada, Leah and Alaina; great grandchildren, Layla, Carma, Zayne, Zeb, Kinsley, Khloe, Kannon, and another on the way; and beloved cat, Samby. Special thanks to Shirley?s caregivers, Brianna and Anna, and to the wonderful staff of Amedisys Hospice Care. The family of Shirley Stewart will receive friends at their residence, 1804 Parkwood Lane, Apartment 30 in Johnson City.
