Stacy Key Caruthers, Johnson City, passed Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. She is in the Heavenly Arms of Jesus, surrounded by butterflies and greeted by those who have gone before. She was born on March 21, 1964, in Amarillo, TX, and was the daughter of James and Mary Caruthers. Stacy graduated from Science Hill High School. She earned her Bachelors Degree from University of Oklahoma and her Masters Degree from East Tennessee State University. During her 20 years at Johnson City Medical Center as an occupational, physical, and certified hand therapist, she inspired her co-workers and patients with her skills, compassion, and humor. Stacy was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and attended Grace Fellowship. Her charismatic personality and love of people influenced her to dance and sing at Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags Over Texas, Opryland, and Dollywood. She also performed in other locations in the United States, as well as Greece and Romania. She is preceded in death by: her paternal grandparents J.B. and Katie Caruthers; maternal grandparents Clyde and Gladys Key; cousin Reed Stout; and several uncles. She loved her family, her friends, and her co-workers. Those family members left to cherish her memory are: her parents; her sister and brother-in-law Dana and Gregg Marks of Bristol; aunts and uncles, BJ Gray of Stillwater, OK, Kathy Rucker and family of Barstow, CA, Bob and Lou Francis and family of East Amherst, NY, Peggy Schoenhals and family of Stillwater, OK, Donnie and Sandy Caruthers of Frisco, TX, Dorla Summars and family of Woodward, OK; a very special friend Cole Horton; and her beloved dog Darla. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the caring staff at Franklin Woods Community Hospital and her primary care physician Dr. Richard Rolen, and to her many wonderful co-workers who cared for her. The family of Stacy Caruthers will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Morris-Baker. A celebration of life will follow at 7:00 PM with Titus O?Bryant officiating and Jason Filson to deliver rememberances.
