Stanley E. Francis

Mr. Stanley E. Francis, 83, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 in the Mountain Home VA Medical Center. Mr. Francis was a native of Buladean, NC. He was the son of the late Johnny M. and Bethina Moffitt Francis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: five brothers, George, Hughey, Dewey, James, and Charles Francis; three sisters, Dorothy Hill, Mamie Yelton, and Elsie Hughes; and his first wife, Loraine Fox Francis. Mr. Francis proudly served his country with the US Army as a paratrooper, and later as a career counselor and recruiter. He retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of New Vision Church of God. Stanley was also a past member of the Hinesville, GA Masonic Lodge #271. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Sue Hagy Francis, of the home; two daughters, Bethina Fletcher, and her husband Charlie, of Limestone, and Lisa Tipton, and her husband Mark, of Jonesborough; one granddaughter, Jessica Ruyan, and her husband Buddy, of Jonesborough; one sister, Marie Wilson, of Jonesborough; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Mr. Stanley Francis will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 pm Thursday, May 1, 2014 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Reverend Hobart Bradshaw will officiate. The committal service will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam VFW Post 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors.
