Stella Mae Vanhoy King, of 319 E. Grand Avenue, Johnson City died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 in the NHC Healthcare in Johnson City. Mrs. King was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a daughter of the late Ray and Addie Juanita Casey Vanhoy. She was a retired employee of East Tennessee State University with twenty-five years of service. Mrs. King was a charter member of the American Business Womens Association (Iris Chaper). She also was a member of the Tacoma Church of God. She was former Director of Children Education at East Park United Methodist Church and a past President of the PTA at King Springs Elementary School. Mrs. King is preceded in death by: two brothers, Howard Vanhoy and Ray Vanhoy ;and one sister, Alma Vanover. Survivors include: her husband, Herman L. King of the home; one daughter, Patricia and her husband Alan Little of Franklin, TN; one granddaughter, Andrea Little Harvey and her husband Greg of Franklin, TN; one sister, Helen McKinney of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sandy McInturff, Kathy Ramsey, and Helen Vanhoy. The funeral service for Stella Mae Vanhoy King will be conducted Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11 AM in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Donald D. Kelly and Pastor Donnie Humphrey will officiate. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening and from 10 to 11 AM on Friday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Tacoma Church of God, 1005 John Exum Parkway, Johnson City, TN 37604
