Sylvia Esther Krouse

Sylvia Cox Krouse, 86, of 1009 Grover Street, Johnson City, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a daughter of the late, John W. and Esther Laughren Cox. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Plummer and Goldie Barnard and four brothers, Oscar, Cecil, Paul and Ed Cox. Mrs. Krouse was retired from North Electric. She was a member of the Tacoma Church of God. She was very active with the Johnson City Senior Citizens. She loved her church and the Musical Voices of the Seniors Center. Survivors include her husband of 14 years, Charles Krouse; one son, Ronald Collins, of Johnson City; a sister in law, Pauline Cox of Johnson City; several nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Rev. Bill Konstantopoulos and Rev. Don Kelly officiating. Burial services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday from the Monte Vista Memorial Park. The family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday.
