Tammie Lynn Broyles Ruston, 57, of Johnson City, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late Donald Broyles and Barbara Watson Broyles. She was a University High and ETSU graduate. Tammie was a very caring and loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. She made lifelong friends wherever she lived, Johnson City, Jackson, MS, Hudson, NC and McDonough, GA. Tammie was an English teacher who loved each student as if they were her own child. She called all students her ?baby'. Her love for them was unconditional. She loved baseball as her son Andy played throughout his school years as #22. Her love for #22 continued with the Atlanta Braves, the St. Louis Cardinals and currently the Chicago Cubs. In addition to her father, son Andrew ?Andy' Wilmot, grandparents, R.C. and Lorene Watson and Irvin and Bernice Broyles all preceded her in death. Survivors including her mother are; sisters, Jennifer Tester (Danny) and Scottye Broyles, nephew Hunter and niece MaryGrace; Andy?s siblings, Jamie, Whitney, Chris and Houston; Great Aunt, Christine Blevins, Aunt Diann Broyles, Uncles David (Pat) Broyles and Doug (Joyce) Broyles; cousins, Stacie, Brooke, Sloane, Darryl, Sandi, Suzi, Butch, Buddy and Eddie; and Beau her special Boston Terrier. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Dogwood Chapel at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A memorial service is to follow at 2:00 pm under the direction of Dr. Barry Blackburn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tammies name to the Washington County-Johnson City Animal Shelter, 3411 N Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601.
