Teresa Sharon Hale

Teresa Sharon Hale of Johnson City, TN, joined her daughter in heaven on October 12th, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Teresa was born May 27, 1953, in Trammel, VA and devoted her life to the complete care of her special needs daughter, Amanda.

Teresa was a member of Fort Gibson United Methodist Church in Castlewood, VA, the town where she lived most of her early life.

Teresa was an advocate for special needs children devoting her life to advocacy and care for those across the region, devoting her later years in life to the care of special needs adults across the Tri-Cities. Teresa was preceded in death by her daughter, her parents Ked and Lois Powers, and her brother Terry. Survivors include her Son, Michael, Sister Pam, and Brother Denny as well as many extended family members.

Her cooking, decorating, and gardening talent was recognized throughout her life with frequent blue ribbons at the Russell Co, VA Fair. Teresa’s yearly cooperative Fall Craft Bazaar sale she held at her house was a yearly event for the community; Teresa also served as the Castlewood Elementary School PTA President. Teresa devoted her life to providing comfort and joy for others; she gave gifts and baked treats to anyone of service from the mailman to her doctor, to random strangers in retail stores. She was a kind, loving, and talented southern lady.

We wish for her kind spirit of love and giving to live on in the community. In lieu of a service, Teresa wished for her friends and family to remember her sacrifices and contributions to the community and follow in her footsteps. Her ashes will be spread by family at a later time.
