Terry Edward Trivett, Jr., 82, of Johnson City, died Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at his home.
He was an Avery County native who lived most of his life in the Johnson City area, and he was a son of the late Terry A. and Esther Oaks Trivett.
Junior retired from the Johnson City Fire Department as Administrative Chief after thirty years of service in the department.
He was an avid coin collector who also loved spending time with his family—especially time outdoors camping and horseback riding.
In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by two sisters Helen Trivett and Ruby Barnett.
Survivors include: his wife, Catherine Louise Trivett; son, Rodney Trivett; daughters, Angie Gillispie, Joanne Rogers, and Tracie Harrison; brothers, James and Joe Trivett; sister, Louella Jackson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family of Junior Trivett will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Richards officiating. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for committal services.
Active pallbearers will be members of the Gray Volunteer Fire Department.
