Texie Lipps

Texie Lipps, 90. Gray, passed away, Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at NHC Healthcare, Johnson City. Mrs. Lipps was a native of Yancey County, NC and had lived most of her life in Washington County, Tennessee. She was a daughter of the late Sam Morris and Lee Anna Jones Ledford. Mrs. Lipps was preceded in death by her husband, O.E. Ted Lipps; one son, Ernest Bobby Lipps and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include four sons, Charles Edward 'Eddie'? Lipps, Akron, Ohio, James Dempsey 'Jimmy'? Lipps and his wife, Jean, Piney Flats, Howard Douglas 'Doug'? Lipps and his wife, Margaret, Gray and Ernest 'Pete'? Lipps and his wife, Teresa, Kingsport; one sister, Mary Nell Rader, Johnson City; four grandchildren, Twyla Miller, Arnella Lipps, Shirley Marie Warren and her husband, Randy, and Christopher Adam Lipps, and several great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Lipps will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, January 10, 2008 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Reverend Toonie Cash will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Boones Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
